Betty started this journey working for a taxidermist making rugs for his business. When he retired in 1988, she started her own business BJ Rugs to help all taxidermists with their rugging needs. Betty retired and sold her business in 2004.

After many years of watching her cousin and best friend Betty's successful business, Rhonda retired from her 1st career and started her 2nd career...Rhonda's Ruggery in 2005. After 20 successful years in the business, she chose to retire from working full-time and passed her business on to her daughter Kirsta in March of 2025. She is still active in the business for the time being as she works part-time with Kirsta helping her as she learns the skills of making beautiful animal rugs.
